Sexual Assault Awareness
April is Sexual Assault Awareness month. This year's theme is "Together We Act, United We Change". Sexual violence is common in the US with over 53% of women and over 29% of men reporting that they have experienced contact sexual violence1. Addressing and preventing all forms of sexual abuse is at the core of The Learning Community's mission. Here are some of the courses we offer that support these goals.

Financial Empowerment
The Learning Community is proud to offer free, accessible financial empowerment education for survivors and the professionals who support them.
The impact of violence is not only emotional and physical—it’s also deeply economic. For a woman survivor, the estimated lifetime cost of intimate partner violence exceeds $100,000.¹ In the vast majority of cases, survivors also experience financial abuse—a pattern of behaviors that restricts another's ability to acquire, use, and maintain economic resources. This can include intentionally damaging credit, draining bank accounts, preventing employment, or denying access to shared assets. Financial abuse is a tactic used to exert power and control.
Financial empowerment—feeling in control of one’s financial situation and making informed choices that support personal and community well-being—is essential to ensuring that survivors and communities are safe and able to thrive.
